Your Candy Bouquet Store and Territory

Once you have successfully completed the application process, you will be able to choose the size of your territory. In the United States, this is generally based on ZIP code, though other means of determining your territory may be used in less populated areas. Internationally, we will help you determine the boundaries of your territory based on local geographic divisions. Your franchise fee will be based on the size of your territory.

You will have exclusive rights to operate within that geographic area, and no other franchises will be awarded within your territory. You may also apply for multiple franchises within your city or area. However in the case of home-based businesses, your house must be located within your territory.

For retail stores, you may choose any location you like within your territory. Candy Bouquet International recommends high-traffic areas like malls or streets busy with pedestrian traffic. We also suggest operating near florists and other gift shops. Recommended size of your storefront ranges anywhere from 600 to 2,000 square feet, though kiosks are also a great seasonal alternative. For smaller locations that only have room for a display or showroom, you will have to find some workshop space to create your arrangements, either at your home or at another location.

You will learn more about how to decide location, size, and territory during your training.

Home-Based Business vs. Storefront

There are advantages to launching your Candy Bouquet franchise either as a storefront or a home-based business. Your decision will depend largely on your business plan. For example, if you wish to cater exclusively to a handpicked clientele (friends, local businesses, etc.) then you can likely base yourself from home. On the other hand, if you are looking to generate high sales from foot traffic and the general public, you would probably be better off opening a storefront in a busy location.

As a third option, you can start as a home-based business, build your customer base, and plan to move to a store location once you are growing.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of advantages:

Storefront Home-Based
  • Higher traffic
  • Higher potential for sales
  • Business is separate from home life
  • More room for showroom (on average)
  • Lower overhead
  • No commute
  • Set your own hours (some malls enforce fixed hours of operation)
  • Lower initial investment costs
